Track Name: Last Turkey in Sainsburys
We found our christmas tree the day after christmas
lying in the back of a skip
all the lights had gone out
But we still wanted to talk about
the way we spent christmas this year

Grandma she lost all of her marbles
Dad he had a heart attack
Mum was ok, until the lent the wrong way
and slipped a disk in her back

We spend all morning in A&E
Between ward 32 and 4
And then the rest of the day
We whiled the hours away
Watching reruns on UK Gold

We found our christmas tree the day after christmas
lying in the back of a skip
all the lights had gone out
But we still wanted to talk about
the way we spent christmas this year

We had bought the last turkey in Sainsbury’s
Then the dog found the way to the fridge
We had to fish out all the tins of tuna
And invent a new Christmas dish

We made bucks fizz out of fanta and lambrini

Defronsted the christmas cake from last year
Although it looked pretty green with just a splash of cream

It tasted just like it did last year

All the presents were bought from pound land
One pound was spent on each
I got a light up yo-yo and a belle and sebastian CD that I threw in the bin

We found our christmas tree the day after christmas
lying in the back of a skip
all the lights had gone out
But we still wanted to talk about
the way we spent christmas this year

But this is the spirit of Christmas
As long as your family’s a part of it
When the shit hits the fan
You’ve got to do what you can
We don’t care if our Christmas tree
ends up in the skip
